Some time ago, an acquaintance shared a message with me that she had received by mistake about some research being done on a place called Adelaide Island.
If my bearings were correct, it was not far off the coast.

I would like to be better prepared for what to expect, aside from the cold.
Is there anything you might have to offer me?

That's broad. You'll have to be more specific on what you're looking for.
What sort of research? What are you going to look for on Adelaide Island?

From what I've read, there were documentations of reptiles that evolved strangely on the island.
I am interested in seeing them for myself, and collecting some of the data.
It is relevant to the work I am doing here in New Amsterdam.

[And, you know, personal investment in other kinds of reptiles.]

Given our most recent misadventures concerning your rescue, I do not want to be surprised when I get there.
Do you know who is in charge?

You mean you want to know who signs the documents for the facility on Adelaide Island?
It's a research institution that's funded by the United Genome Sequencing Center, as well as a few others who have interest in that area. It's been popular lately.
It's not the same in New Magellan. That was a private facility. There won't be any of the genetic mutations used to the same ends there.
If you manage to get there, you'll need a good excuse. I doubt they'll buy that you just showed up for the funsies.

I can prepare an excuse.
I have been working with a research team in New Amsterdam for some months now.
I am sure there are plenty of additional interested parties.

If it is a popular location, the request should not come as a surprise.

You probably shouldn't go down that route, you'll drive yourself to a bad place.

I disagree.
Men who do as they like because no one will stand up to them deserve to be brought to justice.

[That only leaves her craving the real answer. A man who sought such evil deserved to be brought to justice.

But she is also aware that she could easily fall into a similar category as those “monsters”, thanks to her powers. And that isn’t necessarily the main reason she reached out to him.]

The research may be useful for the work my facility is doing.
If we can learn how they are adapting, then we can work to prepare the rest of the city for continued collapse.
They understand better than I do.
But I admire the work they do.

I have burned men for such behavior before.
I will be all too glad to do it again.

I suspect I am not the only one who grows weary of him.

I don't think burning him is going to stop him, it doesn't matter how tired of him people get.
There's a reason I stayed with him. There's a reason he has Judas now.
Out of concern for your safety, I'd suggest to stay away from him until you have the right resources. Statistically speaking, the probability that he could do much to him is low.

I have been volunteering at an environmental research facility in New Amsterdam.
I befriended someone by the name of Aramis, who tracks most of their quarries for research.

But even after some months, they are all very private.

It's an organization called EcoFriends.
Can you blame them? I'd hide that stupid name too.
